About

Adele Ambris

I am a fully qualified counselling therapist with a continuous record of supporting clients in a charity based in my local community and in a self-employed setting within my private practice.

I am passionate about mental health and breaking the stigmas surrounding getting help. My ultimate vision is to make asking for help with mental health support as nonchalant as reaching out for help when we are physically injured. We are all capable of making quick decisions, physical pain equals a trip to the GP. Our jeans become a bit tight, a gym membership might be the answer (whether you use it or not… weeellllll).

We should also be allowed to make the snap decisions regarding our mental wellbeing.

Struggling with depression and anxiety is very debilitating on its own, factoring society's attitude to those mental health issues stops people from getting the help that they deserve. It stops the conversation dead. There are so many ways to begin combating depression and anxiety, talking therapy is just one and can be used in combination with a variety of self care tools.

I work towards providing a service that supports and empowers clients giving them back their sense of autonomy and wellbeing. My areas of expertise are providing time limited therapy or short term therapy. I have worked with a wide range of issues from relationship break downs, life transitions, loneliness, bereavement, living with long term illnesses, social anxiety and relationship issues.

As a therapist I have particular interest in workplace stress, it is a particular type of stress that is on the rise. My other interest is organisational dynamics combining the two during sessions can empower a client to navigate their way through very stressful workplaces.

Making your mental health a priority is big step and building that support for yourself can feel very empowering. If you would like to continue on your journey and would like to make contact please use the form at the end of the website. Thank you and I wish you well.

Short term can be anything from 8-16 sessions. When we contract for short term we would choose a focus for example looking at a relationship break down. By focusing the sessions we make good use of the time and it provides the framework to work on specific areas.

02.

Working long term is very much like short term work as we still have a focus but it is reviewed regularly to see what your aims are for therapy working on anger or your depression homing in on specific areas such as a relationship or work place stress.

Currently the practice has moved online because of COVID 19. I offer session via Skype or Zoom. As we approach the new normal online session can be beneficially if you are strapped for time, no travel time!

COVID 19 has indeed halted face to face sessions until further. When session become available again I will update the website
